Botox

We all want to feel good about ourselves. It is human nature to want to look healthy, youthful and attractive to others… Each of us has a perception of the image we portray and this self-image affects our daily lives. At the WSC, we believe that every individual deserves the right to feel comfortable in their own skin.

As we age, our skin changes… the collagen network providing structural support for the skin breaks down and unwanted wrinkles develop naturally from repetitive movements of the muscles of facial expression. With the exception of surgery, Botox® injections are the only way to slow down the hands of time and decrease the formation of unwanted ‘crow’s feet’ and ‘frown lines’.

How its done?

Very low doses of Botox® are injected directly into the muscles around the wrinkles. By blocking the transmission of nerve impulses to the injected muscle, Botox® decreases their activity. As the muscles weaken, wrinkles soften and often disappear. 

The procedure often takes only a few minutes with minimal discomfort. No anesthesia is required.

If you are in good general health and have specific but realistic goals for the improvement of your appearance… this procedure may be for you. 

Post-operative course

Patients experience minimal discomfort that, if required, is easily controlled with oral medication. Botox® injections are very safe with few side-effects. You may however experience some flu-like systems (headache, nausea) and mild pain and bruising at the injection site.

Although you may notice a difference right away, wrinkle lines continue to improve for one month after the procedure and the results can last between 3-4 months.
