Gynecomastia Surgery
Men occasionally may suffer embarrassment in social situations due to excessive amounts of breast tissue (‘gynecomastia’). They may even be hesitant to take their shirts off in public. Genetic predisposition, certain therapeutic drugs, or the use of anabolic steroids/growth hormone may play a role but routinely, there is no determinable cause.
Gynecomastia surgery removes excessive fat and glandular tissue from the male breasts resulting in a chest that is flatter and firmer.
How its done?
A well-camouflaged incision is made along the edge of the areola. Working through this incision, the surgeon cuts away the excess fat and glandular tissue. Combined with liposuction, all excess tissue is removed.
The procedure often takes 1 hour to complete and is usually performed under a general anesthetic.

Performed as an outpatient procedure, most patients experience minimal discomfort easily controlled with oral medication. You will likely experience some bruising and swelling after surgery, as well as numbness around the areola. Patients are usually back to work in 3 to 4 days.
